OKAND Leadership

OKAND Committees
Functions
- reviewing the OKAND bylaws every other year
- preparing bylaw amendments as directed by the Board of Directors
- overseeing the process of approval
- interpreting the Bylaws
- review and approve Student Association Bylaws, District Bylaws and Dietetic Practice Group governing documents, as needed
Functions
- preparing and presenting a budget corresponding to the fiscal year to the Board of Directors for approval
- overseeing the financial affairs of the Affiliate
- making recommendations for investment of funds, special projects, and review of fiscal policies of the Affiliate.

- Providing continuing education for members
- Providing a quarterly newsletter to membership
- Express gratitude toward members through professional and student awards
- Providing scholarships to deserving students
- Promoting membership
Functions
- preparing the slate of officers and submitting a report signed by the members of the Nominating Committee to the Board of Directors for approval. After approval the report is given to the Secretary-Elect for use as the official ballot.
Functions
- Assist in developing legislative and public policy positions for the Affiliate
- Interpret legislative issues to the membership
- Advise the Board of Directors in regard to legislative and public policy issues
- Plan and coordinate state and national legislative activities of the Affiliate at the direction of the Board.
- Encourage each district to get involved in the legislative activity.
Functions
- Assist in developing publicity for Registered Dietitians and for the Affiliate
- Oversight of Affiliate media outlets and state media representatives
- Affiliate participation in National Nutrition Month and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day.
- Assist in volunteerism among members
