OKAND Webinar: Empathetic Nutrition Counseling for the Disability Community

Tracy Williams is a thought leader in the disability community. She has a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Dominican University. She has moderate cerebral palsy, moderate acquired hydrocephalus, and other chronic conditions. She aims to influence society’s perceptions of people with disabilities, their families, and caregivers. She is a freelance writer, disability advocate, food access advocate, and mental health advocate. She has served as a general contractor for various Chicago organizations focused on cancer advocacy, food access, and disability advocacy. Her new focus is conducting webinars for groups of dietitians interested in learning about the challenges and triumphs of the disability community.

Webinar Objectives:

  1. Recognize barriers patients with disabilities may have in regards to nutrition.
  2. Have a basic understanding of resources that are often needed for this community.
